Topic 04

Leadership & Culture

Culture is what leaders do when no one is watching. Except everyone is watching.

About this topic

Inclusion lives or dies at the leadership level. Policies, programmes and training all have their place — but none of them survive contact with a leader who, through their everyday behaviour, signals that inclusion is someone else’s job.

This session is designed for leaders who genuinely want to get this right. It is not a compliance exercise or a lecture about what leaders shouldn’t do. It is a substantive, evidence-grounded conversation about the specific behaviours, habits and decisions through which leaders either build or erode the kind of culture where everyone can do their best work.

The honest conversation

Most leaders who create non-inclusive cultures do not do so intentionally. They do it through inattention, through comfort with the familiar, through not knowing what they don’t know. This session creates the space to examine that honestly — with rigour, warmth and the kind of direct feedback that most professional development settings avoid.

Who this is for

Senior leaders and leadership teams. C-suite and board-level audiences. High-potential leadership development programmes. Organisations going through cultural transformation where leadership alignment is critical to success.

Format notes

This session is particularly effective in fireside chat or facilitated roundtable format, where the intimate setting creates conditions for genuine exchange. I’m experienced in both formats and can work with your event team to design the right approach.
